This was one of my first experiments in Medieval drawing techniques, and was done "live" during one of my "Medieval Art and Falconry" lectures at Tatnuck Booksellers in Westboro MA, through Westboro Gallery. This is a real Red Tailed Hawkl named Sabre, handled by Larry Keating, a friend who was a Raptor Educator (formerly "Rulers of the Wind"), and is one of the most gorgeous Red Tailed Hawks I have seen, in my opinion anyway. Sabre has since been 'retired' as an educational bird, and resides with "Wind Over Wings" in CT.
